Ruby lamps were in common use in many infra-red ‘people’ heaters until the invention of the gold-coated lamp. Whilst brighter and emitting much more red light than modern gold-coated lamps, Ruby lamps are frequently used to replace fused lamps in older fittings as they more closely match the originals. This lamp is a Ruby ‘Slim’ and takes the place of older Ruby ‘sleeved’ (jacketed) elements.
